Viking Festival

1 min read
I'm just back from the largs viking festival. I spent most of the week leather working and telling kids about medieval games.
I'm going to upload some pictures of the stuff I made over the week.

P.s. In the unscripted finale to the battle, the Scots (the side I was on) slaughtered the Vikings. Only one member of our group died in this section.

...or something along those lines.

I seen Spiderman 3 today and enjoyed it.

I was worried that they had given too much away in the trailers.
This was true, nothing came as a surprise but the action sequences were good and some of the moments in the film were excrutiatingly tense.

If there is one thing I learned from this; that is the way to win back your girlfriend isn't through change and commitment but by having your evil alter-ego fuse with your sworn enemy, team up with your uncles' killer, and kidnap your girlfriend so you have to team up with your ex-best friend (who's another sworn enemy) to save the day.

I seen 300 last week and thought it was awesome. The battles were amazing but I'm not here to write a review, I'm here to criticise someone elses.

"The movie is based, is simply a worthless comic book": I think the fact Frank Miller directed it was a big give away.

"I think the sizes have been modified by computer": No, they looked everywhere for a 10 foot tall actor to play Xerxes.

" the other army does not really attack powerfully but sort of wait in a queue and attack one by one so that they get killed better by the Greek army": That was the greeks plan all along you fool. They waited in a bottle neck; a term given to a bit of terrain that forces an army to narrow their ranks. We Scots did the same thing a the battle of Stirling Bridge.

"the movie does not show the true history at all!!!!!!": Braveheart showed less yet it is praised as an epic.

People that are giving bad reviews, are giving them on the grounds that the film is inaccuracte and the computer generated aspects are done in a stylised manner as opposed to being as realistic as possible.

The film is based on a comic about the Spartan Battle of Thermopylae and people are forgeting this. It was never meant to be a historical epic, it was meant to be a fantasy action film.

I found out earlier on this week that Tony Jay died last year on August 13th at the age of 73.
This man is a legend, known for his unmistakeable, deep voice.
He's probebly most well known for being the voice of the Supreme Being in Time Bandits, a Terry Gilliam film. I'll remeber him for being the voice of the Elder God in the Legacy of Kain games.

Also Megabyte in Reboot.
